Coach Melton took over as head coach for the Admirals in the fall of 2021. He came to Franklin after serving as an assistant coach for Haywood County, Brentwood high, and Centennial high school. In 2020, Coach Melton served as the Defensive Coordinator at Summit High School, helping lead them to a State Championship that season.

Melton attended Union University and graduated with a bachelor’s in science degree. He, then, went on to the University of Memphis, assisting on the Strength and Conditioning staff. During his time at Memphis, he also earned his master’s in human movement science. Coach Melton is married to Becca and together they have two daughters, Reese and Layne.
