Brentwood's offense struggled in most of its first six games, but not Friday night.  The Lady Bruins buried 10 3-pointers in their District 11-AAA opener, a 49-43 win at Franklin.  "I've been on them," Brentwood coach Myles Thrash said. "We hadn't shot the ball very well in a couple of games, and we're a really, really good shooting team. We just space the floor and knock down shots. Tonight, we had it going."  Junior Delaney Trushel led the way with a career-high 21 points, including five 3-pointers.  "Just with all the screens and the plays, (Franklin) gets mixed up and then it just results in someone being open and leading to an open shot," Trushel said.

Brentwood (6-1, 1-0) led by as much as 18 points early in the third quarter before Franklin (4-3, 0-1) narrowed the deficit to 47-43 in the closing seconds.  Sophomore Amelia Osgood added 10 points for the Lady Bruins.  "I think a lot of the 3's they made were contested," Franklin coach John Wild said. "They're just exceptional shooters. Delaney has a great first step and she's really hard to guard. We tried some man, we tried some box and one, we tried some triangle and two. They're just really good offensively.  "We're probably going to have to do better job in our on-the-ball defense. Maybe eliminating some of their penetration because I think a lot of the 3's they got were off of drive and kicks."  Freshman Sydney Ryan led Franklin with 18 points, including four 3-pointers, and senior Darcy Doran added 13.  "Both teams are very young and talented as well," Thrash said. "Delaney has been playing with a tremendous amount of confidence this year. If you take your foot off the gas, (Wild) will make you pay for it."
